I am terrified of clothing patterns. Not sure why -- maybe the fact that you have to cut out along the pattern lines and I inevitably get sloppy and cut out the crucial piece at a 90 degree angle to the selvage. And maybe the fact that I don't have a serger, which means I have scraggly seams that fray inside my clothes. And I hate interfacing.
Whatever reason it is, I have shirked away from sewing any of my own clothes. Until now. Ta-da! Marvel at my inventiveness. It's fitted, with an invisible zipper, and darts.
And I basically just sewed it little by little, by putting it on and seeing where it needed another trim, or dart, or more even hemming. Looks cute, right? It only took me about 90 minutes from beginning to end, and I think that I could whittle that down to an hour with a repeat effort.
